Portrait Paintings of Cats and Dogs
 I take commissions to paint portraits of cats and dogs. So if you'd like a unique painting of a favourite feline you are in the right place. People often ask if I can work from photos and the answer is yes I can. I get commissions from many different countries so working from photographs plays quite a large part in the process.
 Each portrait begins with a discussion of what you are looking for in the final painting. You might have a specific painting in mind or you might not have a clear idea yet of what you'd like. Either is fine.
 I'll ask you to send me photos before agreeing to a commission so we can discuss what you want and make sure your photos will do the job. I'll ask for several photos of your cat or dog to work from and I'll do some quick sketches from those so that we can discuss ideas for the portrait.
 If you want to include several cats or dogs in the painting I will have a look at the photos you have of them and we can discuss the possibilites. It's nearly impossible to get several animals all into one perfect pose in a single photo, so I'll need lots of photos of each of them so I can design a group painting for you.
 Once we have some sketches to look at we can talk about what you want. If you didn't have any specific ideas for your painting then hopefully the sketches I send you will help you decide how you'd like the painting to look. If you had a specific pose in mind then the sketches I do will reflect your original ideas.
 Once you've seen the sketches you can decide if you want to go ahead and what type of painting you'd like, an oil or acrylic painting on canvas, or a painting on paper.
