What a wonderful idea, cats, coffee and cake! Just heaven.

Sadly Rilli passed over in March and this painting was done in his memory. Rilli will be very sadly missed by all his friends.

This is Sebastian. He’s the first Sphynx I’ve painted. He was sitting in his basket and the light on his skin glows against the dark, warm  background behind him.

Getting his skin right with the cool shadows and the warm highlights was quite a challenge.

The delicious Miss Honey Bun. Only Maine Coons of the very finest royal blood have spectacular whiskers like these! So I felt she needed this rich, luscious royal red background to really bring out the beauty of her glorious good looks. And the lighting not only emphasises those amazing whiskers but it adds a warm, honeyed colour to the scene. Very appropriate for Princess Honey. :-)

And of course it’s a wonderful excuse to indulge in one of my favourite things to paint, a black and white cat on a red background. How lucky am I? Here’s a close up of the painting…

Two fabulous Maine Coons enjoying a sunny afternoon in the garden. The pretty little tabby girl in the grass is Autumn Blushes and the big red boy kissing her on the nose is her brother Booboo (also known as Leonais Bali Ha’i ).

I just love the affectionate relationship between the big brother and his little sister and the lovely shapes the two of them make. I couldn’t resist painting them. And of course I do have a thing for red Maine Coons! :-)
Both of these beautiful cats are from Leonais Maine Coons.
