Commissions

Harvey

April 19th, 2009

Harvey is a gorgeous Maine Coon. What a good looking cat! I was lucky enough to paint him for his owner Charlotte. This is a 16×12 inch acrylic painting on stretched canvas.

The  flash  has bounced of the paint a little bit, sorry about that! Here’s a close up of the painting.

Poppy, Daisy and Lilly

March 28th, 2009

Three beautiful Siamese cats curled up together on the sofa, a seal point a tabby point and a blue point. This painting was a commission for their owner. I started by looking at different poses for the three of them.

In this one Daisy was still a kitten.

This is the pose we chose for the painting.

Here’s the canvas part way though the painting process. Most of the underpainting is done except for Lilly and Poppy’s faces and the cushions are taking form behind them.

This is the finished painting. It’s a 16×12 inch acrylic painting on canvas.

Ness, Vienna, Rigsby and Bob

March 18th, 2009

This commission to paint Ness, Vienna, Rigsby and Bob took me a while to complete. Their owners, Stuart and Jane, wanted the four of them curled up together but Ness doesn’t like having her photo taken! So I needed to come up with a pose that included all four cats even though we couldn’t get them to pose for the painting.

This is a 22×16 inch acrylic on a deep sided canvas. Here are some detailed photos…

Handsome Bob.

Tosca and Jake

March 10th, 2009

A portrait of Tosca and Jake. Tosca is a Brown Burmese and Jake is a Blue Tonkinese. They don’t usually curl up together but with a bit of artistic license here they are.

Frank

January 4th, 2009

Another of the Christmas commissions is Frank. I rather fell for Frank as I was painting him. He looks to be quite a character. He was also a lot of fun to paint as he’s sitting partly in sun and partly in shade and the colours in his fur change with the light.

A close up of the canvas….
