Art On The Easel

Daddy’s Little Princess

August 17th, 2007

Coco is a very striking Siamese, a real beauty with a quirky fun loving personality and a real chatterbox. It was wonderful to paint her for her owners.

She has amazing eyes doesn’t she? I think she’d make a wonderful model.

Mutual Grooming

August 14th, 2007

Charlie and Ming having a grooming session. Charlie seems to be doing all the work and Ming having all the fun.

Louie and Huey

August 13th, 2007

Louie and Huey are two amazing caramel point Siamese. Their owner Janine wanted a painting of them. She sent me many lovely photos to work from. The boys obviously love going out into the garden and are really outdoor types so we decided to paint them with the garden as their backdrop.

See a detailed look at the paintings here…

Hot Spot

August 9th, 2007

This little painting is a 10×8 acrylic on canvas board. He’s found a lovely hot spot in the sun on the floor. Cats always know the best places to sleep!

It’s in the SOFA show at the Llewellyn Alexander Gallery in Waterloo from the 4th of September.

Taz In the Sink

July 21st, 2007

This is an acrylic painting on canvas of Taz, a Maine Coon youngster sitting in the bathroom sink. I had painted this before on paper but wanted to develop the painting a bit further. I’m pleased with the way he turned out. I painted the wall behind him as a black marble with a shimmering gold  iridescence going through it and it gives a wonderful effect, sometimes black and dark and sometimes greeny gold when it catches the light.
