This is a second painting of Ollie, a Selkirk Rex cat. I wanted to paint a little portrait on a gold background. It’s such a lovely warm colour and the gold gleams in the light. I love the way little bits of gold peek through the paint and surprise you. It gives him some extra sparkle. the gold really sets of his blue coat. It’s a 6×6 inch painting on a gold board.

A painting of Ollie. This handsome Selkirk Rex cat is sitting in his favourite spot in the garden watching a butterfly flutter by. He’s painted in watercolour on 20×14 inch Fabriano paper. I’ve given him blue whiskers to match his coat. I do love selkirk whiskers, that curliness and the way they go off at odd angles, just so adorable!

This is Cookie with a rather gorgeous smile. Isn’t he handsome? He is painted on a piece of heavy weight Fabriano paper. He was quite a challenge to paint, with his curly coat full lots of soft pastel colours. It was even more of a challenge to photograph!
