Merlin – Sold

Black cats aren’t really black at all… when you look closely, their fur is full of hidden colours. In this one I’ve let the blues, reds and purples shine through, with drips and splashes adding to his character. And those green eyes? They’re always the star. I found myself completely lost in the colours while painting him. His green eyes held me the whole time, as if he was watching me paint. Even the drips seemed to belong, like Blackie had decided to leave his own pawprint on the painting. Painting sometimes seem to have minds of their own.

A watercolour painting of a black cat, his fur is full of colour abd he has colourful whiskers.
