International Hug Day

I’ve come to realise that the best hugs aren’t loud or dramatic. They’re the easy ones. The kind that make you smile without even noticing. Cats are brilliant at this. They appear, settle in, and suddenly everything feels better. A warm weight on your lap, a soft purr, a gentle nudge of a paw. No fuss, no performance, just comfort.

It’s one of the reasons I love painting cats so much. They bring a sense of warmth and calm wherever they are, and a cat painting can do the same for a room. Familiar, cheerful, and quietly reassuring.

So if you’re celebrating National Hug Day today, give your cat a hug… if he’ll let you. :-)
