Jak Frost – Sold

A new painting. I decided to do something different, I have some wood boards and thought I’d try painting on the wood instead of using a white gesso surface. To make it even tougher I went for a gold background as well! I’m a sucker for punishment! 🙂 The model is Jak, a gorgeous white maine coon cat. It was very strange the way the wood comes through the painting as a texture and yet the painting still holds its own. He is such a handsome cat and he has such lovely eyes, and there’s a touch of gold in those whiskers.

He is a 10×8 inch painting in acrylic on wood.
